This drop is an homage to my Tewa and Pueblo cousins from the areas surrounding Santa Fe, New Mexico. My relatives are from the Hopi village of Hotevilla, Arizona and these designs can be found on pottery from both location since time immemorial. There was a time not long ago when archaeologists, anthropologist, linguists and historians said that our people had “no concept of time”. Our ancestors have been tracking time using the Earth, Moon, Stars and Sun for ceremony and keeping balance in an unstable world.
This design is inspired by that sacred knowledge for you to wear around your wrist reminding you of where we’ve been and where we’re going.
