Nizhónígo Nináánááhai Dooleeł means Happy New Year in Diné. For the first drop of 2023 on New Year’s Day I bring you the floral patterns that adorn the “Sání Scarf” from Russia and Ukraine. This beautifully patterned scarf has become synonymous with Navajo grandmothers and granddaughters alike. Its popularity and many uses has brought it into mainstream pop culture and can be seen everywhere nowadays. I chose this pattern because it’s the perfect juxtaposition of old and new being that it’s laser engraved on a futuristic watch band.
